Phil began racing back in 1985 with a Riley Elf Special Saloon complete with a 1293cc Turbocharged engine that finally produced around 200bhp.
He raced in the Large Special saloon class but still managed to get to 3rd in class in the British Leaders and Midland Hillclimb Championships in the late 80's and early 90's. He also raced a COX GTM for a few years also with a Turbo engine but was not as successful as the ELF. But still did well in the same championships.
After a layoff for a few years bringing up children and doing a degree in technical illustration he returned with the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R in 2004.
Over the past 3 seasons he has been 2nd in class in both the Welsh and Midland Speed Championships.
Hopefully the fully rebuilt engine and AET Turbo will give him the chance to get that 1st position.
